Supervisory Budget Analyst

As a Supervisory Budget Analyst at the GS-0560-14 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform budget analysis on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis to development improvement strategies for overall program effectiveness in future budget cycles.

Provide technical guidance to program and management officials on preparing, justifying, and executing their budget in compliance with laws, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. Coordinate the work of a multi-sector budget team with consideration for if the work may be performed by employees and/or contractors.

Represent a budget work unit in cross functional working groups to achieve common organizational goals. Contribute a variety of written documents (e.g., executive summaries, historical analysis, budget estimates) to support annual budget submission packages.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion and Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) Status applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility.

The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional). No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility.

One year at the GS-13 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 grade level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply.

To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Consulting with budget liaisons, program analysts, or management officials to prepare, justify, and execute program budgets; Developing cost-benefit analyses to inform decision-making in the budget formulation and/or budget approval process; Using Microsoft Office or similar suite of applications to draft, edit, and publish a variety of written documents submitted in budget request packages; Providing technical budget advice or guidance to a variety of audiences at varying organizational levels (e.g., management, peers, support staff); and Managing competing workload priorities for a team of budget analysts, support staff, and/or contractors.
