Supervisory Life Scientist/Physical Scientist/Environmental Engineer

At the full performance level of this position, you will: Plan, organize, and direct organizational priorities and resources to achieve the Division's goals for air quality, health effects, and economic assessments.

Serve as a technical authority and represents the Division, Office, and Agency to stakeholders to provide authoritative input on the development, results, and implications of air quality and health assessments.

Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities to promote an environment that empowers employees to participate in and contribute to effective mission accomplishment. Oversee staff in the management of grants, contracts, and interagency agreements, in compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, polices, practices and guidelines.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements. One or more positions may be filled (in the organization advertised and/or in other organizations), if appropriate to the position.

In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as providing technical advice related to air quality, health, and/or economic impacts of air quality management programs or policies; providing input on the development of air quality, health, and/or economic assessments; and coaching or mentoring others.

To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as advising teams, stakeholders and/or senior leadership on the air quality, health, and/or economic impacts of air quality management programs or policies; providing oversight and recommendations on the development of air quality, health, and/or economic assessments; and leading workgroups, projects or programs.
