INTERDISC ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER / PHYSICAL SCIENTIST

You will develop and maintain project criteria, schedules, and budgets in conformance with project and customer requirements.

You will review plans and specification of projects to be constructed to assess impacts on the Environmental Restoration program, and ensure cost-effectiveness of the environmental provisions and compliance with environmental standards and permits.

You will consult with engineers, geologists, chemists and other professionals to resolve difficult problems during remedial investigations, solving unforeseen problem areas and disputes with regulatory agencies.

You will be responsible for planning, supervising, inspecting and advising on the work assignments including restoration of land areas as necessitated by clean-up actions and rehabilitation of sites.

You will advise on and develop plan for disposal of hazardous waste, identifies composition and character, and determines appropriate methods of handling.

GS-12: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Provides consulting and advisory services on environmental laws, regulations, and policies; 2) Develops budgetary estimates and statements of work, and negotiates various contracts; 3) Functions as the Contracting Officer's Representative to provide environmental program oversight and support; and 4) Uses project management skills to keep work on-budget and schedule.

GS-11: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Familiar with environmental laws, regulations, and/or policies; 2) Assists with developing budgetary estimates and statements of work, and is familiar with Contracting Officer's Representative responsibilities; and/or 3) Uses project management skills to guide work.
