At the full performance level of this position, you will: Plan, organize, and direct organizational priorities and resources to achieve the Division's goals for development and implementation of emission reduction programs for heavy-duty engines and vehicles.
Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities to promote an environment that empowers employees to participate in and contribute to effective mission accomplishment. Represent the Agency to stakeholders by building effective working relationships, providing policy and procedural guidance, and resolving issues as they arise.
Serve as the Agency's technical authority on heavy-duty engine and vehicle emissions reduction strategies, policies, and regulations. One or more positions may be filled (in the organization advertised and/or in other organizations), if appropriate to the position.
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements, including any requirements described in the Education section, by the closing date of this announcement.
In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as providing technical advice related to heavy-duty engines and vehicles emissions reduction programs, policies, or regulations; providing input on the development of air pollution programs, policies or regulations; and coaching or mentoring others.
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as advising teams, stakeholders and/or senior leadership on the development or implementation of programs related to heavy-duty engines and vehicles emissions reduction programs, policies, or regulations; providing oversight and recommendations on the development of air pollution programs, policies or regulations; and leading workgroups, projects or programs.
