ELECTRICIAN

You will overhaul, install, modify, maintains and repair electronic and electrical components (i.e. control systems, safety devices, motors, voltage and speed regulating equipment, generators, wiring, and circuitry on all types of equipment.

You will diagnose (troubleshoot), determine needed repairs, and accomplish the required restorations, with proper documentation, on a variety of electric-powered material handling and weight handling equipment.

You will make repairs and electrical adjustments as necessary to ensure OEM, WHEM, and WHI standards are met and that the completed job meets all applicable safety standards.

You will troubleshoot electrical systems, locates problems and correctly isolates faults to a component level.

You will review the job assigned and determine the sequence of work and additional parts and material necessary to effect a completed repair job with a minimum equipment downtime.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Must have have sufficient knowledge of techniques. The incumbent must have broad knowledge of electrical systems and equipment. Must have a detailed technical knowledge of work operations.

Must understand operational theory, check out procedures and have knowledge and skill to perform electrician work. Must have the ability to articulate understanding, knowledge and skill to co-workers working on electrical systems.
