ELECTRONICS ENGINEER

You will serve as an Electronics Engineering specialist with the responsibilities for developing designs and specifications of oceanographic and acoustic instrumentation systems.

You will prepare preliminary design studies, design memoranda, final design calculations and plans, technical specifications, labor and material estimates for in-house programs.

You will make trips aboard ships, aboard aircraft, and to other data collection locations to verify system performance.

You will serve as a shipboard expert in the collection, processing, and quality control of geophysical data.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience testing, evaluating, and providing engineering design and development guidance related to ocean acoustic collection equipment.

Professional experience of electronic engineering principles and practices applicable to the full range of engineering duties concerned with the design of specialized oceanographic and hydrographic data acquisition systems.

Experience performing complex design work for data acquisition systems and ability to adapt existing designs to meet requirements. Experience providing innovative design solutions where no precedent exists.
