Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills. This person will work closely with international stakeholders, ensuring database performance, reliability, security, and scalability across different environments.

This is a freelance remote opportunity for professionals with an advanced level of English, as the role involves direct communication with clients.

Responsibilities Manage, monitor, and maintain database environments Ensure database performance, availability, and security Perform backups, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures Troubleshoot database issues and optimize queries Support database migrations, upgrades, and deployments Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams Create and maintain technical documentation Participate in client meetings and provide technical support when needed Requirements 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) Experience working with relational databases such as: MySQL PostgreSQL Microsoft SQL Server Oracle Database Experience with database performance tuning and monitoring Knowledge of backup and recovery processes Familiarity with cloud environments is a plus: Amazon Web Services Microsoft Azure Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Experience with scripting or automation is a plus Advanced English level (written and spoken) Strong problem-solving and communication skills Nice to Have Experience working with distributed or high-availability systems Knowledge of DevOps practices Previous experience working with US-based clients Certifications related to database administration or cloud platforms What We Offer 100% remote freelance opportunity Flexible work environment International projects and exposure to global teams Long-term collaboration opportunities Dynamic and collaborative culture Originally posted on Himalayas
