The posting
We're looking for a talented and passionate Data Scientist to join Wildlife's Insights team.
Wildlife is one of the largest gaming companies in the world. As a Data Scientist on our Insights team, you will turn petabytes of player data into actionable decisions to make our games better. Working embedded with product teams, you will tackle complex quests, like optimizing matchmaking, scaling game economies, customizing content, and designing smart experiments to help us build games we are truly proud of.
We know that the work we do has a high impact on our company's success and culture. The right person for this position is naturally curious, comfortable in a "take the initiative" environment, loves solving problems, and can thrive in a fast and growing business.
What you'll do
Apply experimentation, advanced statistics, and the scientific method to continuously test hypotheses and iterate on the game.
Make sense of large and complex player datasets to directly impact product strategy, player retention, and long-term monetization.
Partner directly with Product Managers and Engineers to solve open-ended business questions quickly, leveraging existing tools or building new automations.
Expand game potential by delivering non-trivial solutions to core product challenges, such as optimizing game economy, matchmaking, and live content customization.
Disrupt the status quo by incorporating agentic AI and modern tools into your daily workflow, continuously raising the technical and analytical bar of the team.
Support game team decision-making by fostering analytical rigor and building high-quality data products, frameworks, and tools.
What you'll need
Applied Statistics & Machine Learning: Solid understanding and practical experience applying statistical techniques to product problems, including experimentation design, A/B testing, and predictive modeling.
Product Analytics Mindset: Proven ability to analyze player behavior, formulate hypotheses, and translate data into actionable insights for Product Managers and Engineers.
Core Data Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (or R) to query, clean, and analyze large datasets independently.
AI Tooling & Efficiency: Comfort and interest in using AI tools (such as LLMs or coding assistants) to speed up execution, automate routine tasks, and multiply your daily output.
Clear Communication: Ability to structure complex findings clearly and communicate effectively with cross-functional partners in written English.
More about you
Business-driven and pragmatic: You are motivated by generating real value for games and players, choosing the right tool for the job rather than overengineering solutions.
Creative problem solver: You love tackling open-ended business problems and uncovering non-obvious solutions through data.
Autonomous with high ownership: You take initiative in leading execution, proactively keeping stakeholders aligned while knowing when to ask for help when blocked.
AI enthusiast: You are eager to test new tools, push technical boundaries, and use AI to multiply your personal output.
Structured communicator: You communicate complex analytical ideas clearly and logically, both in speaking and writing, including in English.
Great teammate: You enjoy learning about adjacent disciplines, working closely with product partners, and raising the bar for those around you.
