Senior Data Engineer – Healthcare Technology

Elevated Hires is recruiting a Senior Data Engineer to build and scale a modern healthcare data platform supporting analytics, care coordination, and value-based care. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who can independently make high-impact architectural decisions and develop secure, reliable data systems.

Candidates located in Pittsburgh are preferred; qualified U.S.-based remote candidates will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Architect scalable, secure, and highly reliable data systems.

Build and maintain production-grade pipelines that ingest, process, and enrich large volumes of healthcare data.

Establish data-quality, governance, monitoring, and validation standards.

Optimize system performance through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and related strategies.

Design and deploy cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices.

Protect sensitive healthcare information and maintain HIPAA and HITRUST compliance.

Collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, and clinical operations teams.

Contribute to system architecture, CI/CD, test automation, and DevOps standards.

Simplify complex technical problems and make independent architectural decisions.

Required Qualifications

At least five years of dedicated data engineering experience.

Hands-on experience with Innovaccer’s Data Activation Platform, including ingestion frameworks, connectors, data models, and interoperability workflows.

Expert SQL skills and advanced proficiency in Python or Scala.

Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

Knowledge of data-lake technologies such as Amazon S3 and Delta Lake.

Experience with Apache Spark or Dask.

Strong knowledge of AWS services, including S3, Lambda, and RDS.

Experience with Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions.

Understanding of healthcare data, HIPAA, HITRUST, and FHIR.

Strong background in system architecture, scalability, CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
