We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead our reporting and application-integration architecture — from complex Power BI paginated reports through how they connect end to end into our application, backed by deep SQL and database expertise.

This role spans Power BI paginated reporting, Power BI Report Server (PBIRS), Power BI Embedded, and application reporting integrations.

The ideal candidate combines report-building craft with real database depth, has a strong bias toward automation and instinctively looks to streamline manual processes rather than repeat them, and brings a genuine interest in helping shape how these solutions mature over time.

What You'll Be Doing

Design, build, and maintain paginated reports (RDL) and reporting solutions across Power BI Report Server, Power BI Service, and legacy Crystal Reports, serving as the primary technical resource for their deployment and troubleshooting

Understand, end to end, how reports and embedded analytics connect into our application — authentication flows, parameter passing between the app and the report, and troubleshooting when something breaks across that boundary

Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and stored procedures for reporting, extraction, and application workloads

Support Python-based tooling for data pipelines and analytics workflows, with growing opportunity to operationalize forecasting or classification model outputs into reporting and decision workflows as our data science work expands

Automate report generation, scheduling, and delivery wherever possible — treat manual report creation as a signal something should be templated or scripted instead

Build monitoring for reporting data and queries — quality checks, anomaly detection, and SLAs to catch issues early

Improve report and query performance through instrumentation and benchmarking

What We're Looking For

Strong SQL and relational database expertise — writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries independently

Experience building Power BI Paginated Reports (RDL) and working across PBIRS, Power BI Service, and Power BI Embed

Real, hands-on experience embedding these reports into a client-facing application, including authentication, REST API-driven token handling, and broader application integration — enough to trace an issue across the app-to-report boundary and troubleshoot end to end

Experience supporting enterprise reporting solutions in production environments

Stays current: proactively tracks changes in the Fabric/Power BI ecosystem rather than relying on knowledge going stale, and specifically watches for improvements in Microsoft's paginated report rendering APIs

What Will Make You Stand Out

Python experience for data pipelines and analytics tooling, especially experience operationalizing forecasting or classification model outputs into reporting or decision workflows

Interest or background in applied data science — we're expanding in this direction and want people excited to grow with it

Experience with healthcare or other high-volume, high-sensitivity, regulated data (e.g., HL7)

Experience with Azure services supporting reporting and analytics workloads

Knowledge of PowerShell, Azure DevOps, or CI/CD practices related to report deployment

Experience adapting reporting or data products across multiple platforms during modernization efforts

Experience participating in reporting platform modernization or migration initiatives

Benefits and Perks: InductiveHealth offers competitive benefits and perks including:

  • Virtual first, remote organization and culture
  • Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with corporate matching
  • Medical, prescription, vision, and dental coverage (multiple plans based on your needs)
  • Short Term and Long Term Disability (for employee)
  • Life Insurance (for employee)
  • New Team Member support for home office setup
