Data Architect – Financial Crimes & Risk (FCC / AML / KYC)

Role SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Data Architect with deep expertise in Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC), AML, KYC, Sanctions Screening, Fraud, and Regulatory Reporting. The role is responsible for defining how data is sourced, modeled, integrated, governed, and consumed across the Financial Crimes ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will bridge business, compliance, risk, and technology teams to establish scalable, regulatory-compliant data architectures that support detection, monitoring, investigation, and reporting capabilities

Key ResponsibilitiesDefine target-state data architecture and data domain strategy for Financial Crimes and Risk platforms.Design end-to-end data flows across customer, account, transaction, onboarding, KYC, sanctions, AML, fraud, and case management systems.Establish logical and physical data models, canonical data structures, and integration patterns.Define data sourcing, lineage, quality, metadata, governance, and stewardship requirements.Partner with compliance, risk, operations, and technology teams to translate regulatory requirements into data solutions.Drive cloud-based data modernization initiatives and support enterprise data platforms.Ensure data architectures meet auditability, traceability, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements.Support implementation of AML monitoring, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, customer risk rating, case management, and regulatory reporting solutionsRequired Qualifications10+ years in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Enterprise Data Management.5+ years of experience in Financial Crimes, Compliance, Risk, AML, KYC, Fraud, or Regulatory Reporting domains.Strong understanding of customer, account, transaction, alert, case, and regulatory reporting data models.Experience with data governance, data quality, metadata management, lineage, and master/reference data.Expertise in cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), data lakes, warehouses, and integration frameworks.Strong stakeholder management and ability to work with business, compliance, and technology leadership.Preferred SkillsExperience with Actimize, SAS AML, NICE, Oracle FCCM, or similar FCC platforms.Knowledge of OFAC, BSA/AML, FinCEN, FATF, KYC/CDD/EDD, sanctions, and fraud regulations.Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled Financial Crime analytics and detection platforms.Experience leading large-scale data transformation and modernization programs.
