Freelance | 8–20 hrs/week | Remote (EU/UK)

Are you an experienced intellectual property professional or analyst who can identify nuanced issues and understands the complexities of IP rights in practical business settings? Do you have 8 to 20 hours per week available alongside your main role or consulting projects? Join us in shaping how AI understands and applies intellectual property concepts at scale.

About the Role

10x.team connects expert freelancers with leading AI labs building next-generation models. We’re seeking experienced IP analysts and professionals based in the EU or UK to improve the accuracy, depth, and real-world relevance of AI-powered systems in the field of intellectual property.

What You Will Do

Review and refine AI-generated outputs on topics such as patent protection, trademark disputes, copyright, infringement assessments, and IP strategy

Evaluate AI responses for practical accuracy, logical structure, and applicability to real business cases

Draft realistic IP scenarios and case studies based on your direct experience

Create variations of scenarios from diverse perspectives (e.g. in-house counsel, IP analyst, rights holder, regulator)

Spot gaps, legal oversights, or flawed reasoning in AI-generated IP content

In simple terms

You’ll assess and improve AI-generated intellectual property content, ensuring it reflects authentic reasoning, solid logic, and current best practices. Instead of providing traditional IP advisory or prosecution services, you’ll use your expertise to help AI systems genuinely understand and reason about intellectual property rights at scale.

Who You Are

A senior-level IP analyst, consultant, or in-house professional

Based in and eligible to work in the EU or UK

Multiple years of hands-on experience in IP matters (e.g. patents, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets)

Strong ability to assess IP reasoning and distinguish between theoretical concepts and pragmatic, actionable solutions

Comfortable working independently and providing detailed, critical feedback

Available for 8–20 hours per week, with immediate or short-term availability

Why Join?

Flexible, fully remote work that fits alongside your current professional commitments

Apply your IP expertise in a rapidly evolving, high-impact AI field

Directly influence the next generation of AI-powered legal and business systems

Free access to our in-house AI Academy to further build your AI knowledge

Structured onboarding, clear briefs, and opportunity for repeat project work

-----------------------------------------

At 10x , there are two types of opportunities

1. Traditional freelance missions

These are regular project-based opportunities where the listed mission is the actual project you may work on.

2. AI Lab roles

For AI Lab roles, we scout, review, and approve profiles for access to future project opportunities.

The missions listed for AI Lab roles are not traditional job openings . AI Lab work is often highly confidential as this exposes information of what an AI Lab is working on, and project requests are unpredictable. When an AI Lab request comes in, we often need to respond within 24 hours with suitable talent.

Matching depends on the specific needs of each AI Lab project and your niche expertise. Once your profile is reviewed and approved, you may be matched to relevant AI Lab projects when suitable opportunities arise.

This can happen within hours, but it may also take months, depending on the researchers at the AI labs and their project needs.

Compensation: €106 – €180 per hour
