The posting
Nium provides global infrastructure for real-time cross-border payments. We were founded on the mission to deliver the global payments infrastructure of tomorrow, today. Our platform enables banks, fintechs, and global businesses to move money instantly, everywhere.
Co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore with offices in 14 markets worldwide, we are entering one of the most exciting chapters in our journey. In March 2026, we delivered the largest month in our 11-year history with record revenue, record volumes, and EBITDA profitability. Today, Nium moves nearly $60B in payments annually, almost entirely for enterprises, while continuing to strengthen an already healthy balance sheet.
It is an incredible time to join us, and we are only just getting started.
Our payout network spans 190+ countries and 100 currencies, with 100 + corridors in real time. We power seamless transfers to accounts, wallets, and cards, support local collections in 35 markets, and as a principal card issuer on Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and UATP, Nium issues over 50 million card tokens every year.
Backed by regulatory licenses in 40+ markets, we make it simple for our partners to onboard, integrate, and scale globally.
This scale and innovation have earned us recognition as one of CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2025, winner of Best Cross-Border Payments Solution at the PayTech Awards, and inclusion in FXC Intelligence’s Top 100 Cross-Border Payments Companies list.
In 2024, we raised US$50 million in Series E funding at a US$1.4 billion valuation to accelerate network expansion, product innovation, and talent growth. With the B2B payments market projected to hit US$175 trillion by 2030, Nium offers ambitious builders the chance to shape the future of global money movement with the scale of a leader and the energy of a high-growth company.
About the Role
We are building Nium's Product Compliance function as a strategic capability that enables safe, scalable global growth.
As a Product Compliance Manager, you will sit at the intersection of Product, Payments, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Engineering and AI. You will help ensure that Nium's products are designed, launched and operated in line with regulatory expectations across multiple jurisdictions.
This role goes beyond interpreting regulation. You will understand how products and payment flows work end-to-end, identify regulatory and financial crime risks, and work with Product and Engineering teams to design practical controls directly into the product and operating model.
We are looking for a builder and systems thinker who can turn complex regulatory requirements into scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
Product Advisory & Risk
Partner with Product, Business and Engineering teams from ideation through launch and ongoing product evolution.
Understand customer journeys, product architecture and end-to-end payment flows.
Assess new products, features, payment methods, partnerships and material product changes.
Independently lead New Product Risk Assessments (NPRAs) and identify regulatory, financial crime and operational risks.
Translate regulatory obligations into clear product requirements and proportionate controls.
Challenge product designs where risks are not adequately addressed and help teams develop workable alternatives.
Product Assurance
Review existing products and processes for compliance gaps and emerging risks.
Assess the impact of new markets, products, payment flows and material changes.
Drive remediation of identified gaps and track controls through implementation.
Identify systemic risks and reusable solutions across products rather than solving issues individually.
Contribute to periodic Product Compliance health reviews and ongoing oversight.
Regulatory Intelligence
Monitor regulatory developments relevant to Nium's products and markets.
Assess how regulatory changes impact product design, processes and controls.
Develop reusable jurisdictional guidance, playbooks and compliance knowledge.
Partner with regional Compliance and MLRO teams to translate local requirements into scalable product solutions.
AI & Automation
Identify opportunities to use technology and AI to make Product Compliance more scalable and effective.
Help develop AI-assisted compliance workflows and knowledge-management capabilities.
Identify repetitive compliance activities that can be automated.
Contribute to initiatives such as Compliance Copilot and other Product Compliance tooling.
Requirements
5–7 years of experience in Product Compliance, Payments Risk, Financial Crime, Product Risk, Product Management, or a similar role within fintech, payments or financial services.
Strong understanding of digital products, payment flows and customer journeys.
Experience translating regulatory or risk requirements into practical product, process or control solutions.
Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Business, Risk and/or Compliance teams.
Ability to independently manage ambiguous problems and drive them from assessment through recommendation and implementation.
Strong written and verbal communication, structured problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
Comfortable influencing teams without relying on formal authority.
Strongly Preferred
Cross-border payments and remittances
Stablecoins, digital assets or crypto
Cards and card issuing
Fraud and financial crime
KYC/KYB and customer lifecycle controls
Multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments
Nice to have: SQL, APIs, workflow/automation tools and experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
What Success Looks Like
Become a trusted Product Compliance partner to Product and Business teams.
Independently assess complex products, customer journeys and payment flows.
Lead Product Risk Assessments and translate regulatory requirements into pragmatic, scalable controls.
Identify and drive resolution of product compliance gaps.
Identify systemic risks and opportunities to improve controls across products.
Build reusable Product Compliance frameworks, playbooks and knowledge assets.
Help make Product Compliance more technology-enabled and scalable.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a traditional compliance operations or investigations role.
Experience in AML, KYC/KYB, sanctions or financial crime is valuable, but we are not primarily looking for someone whose experience has been limited to:
AML investigations or transaction monitoring
KYC/KYB operations or document verification
Sanctions screening operations
Case management
Regulatory reporting execution
Manual compliance reviews with limited product or technology engagement
We are looking for someone who enjoys asking
How does this product work end-to-end?
Where does regulatory or financial crime risk enter the flow?
What is the simplest effective control?
How can we make compliance the default rather than an afterthought?
How can technology and AI make the control more scalable?
If you enjoy solving ambiguous problems, understanding how financial products work and building practical solutions at the intersection of product, technology and regulation, this role is for you.
