The posting
You will be directly responsible for executing in-house civil engineering design work products and services within specified milestones and quality standards.
You will perform quality assurance review of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by A/E design firms.
You will conduct site investigation field trips to project sites
You will prepare correspondence, reports, and cost analyses. Prepares written and oral presentations regarding structural-related topics.
You will assist with construction quality assurance for active construction projects including the following activities; submittal review, responding to RFIs, quality assurance site visits and inspections, commissioning, and project closeout.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Producing and developing civil engineering design packages, including budgeting, design drawings, plans, specifications and design-build requests for proposal; 2) Reviewing civil engineering design submissions to provide subject matter expert acceptance recommendations to officials; 3) Providing a wide range of shore based engineering projects in relation to site developments, roads, airfields, water supply, sewer systems, drainage, dredging, waste facilities, shore protection, and other large/industrial civil engineering projects; and 4) Providing civil engineering design consultation services utilizing software/systems (i.e.
Whole Building Design Guide-WBGD, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Microsoft, and other engineering design software).
