FUL - Carpenter

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Perform journey-level carpentry to build, modify, and repair wooden and composite structures such as buildings, cabins, docks, boardwalks, bridges, floors, decks, fences, signs, partitions, and trim.

Plan and execute projects from layout to finish, ensuring precise fit, structural integrity, and quality appearance. Construct and repair frames, rafters, forms, walls, stairs, doors, windows, cabinetry, and other interior/exterior components.

Operate woodworking machines, use advanced joinery techniques, and work with wood, metal, and composite materials for partitions, floors, ceilings, counters, and moldings. Read and interpret blueprints to determine layout, materials, and work sequences.

Work with historic carpentry, and take appropriate measures to preserve features that define the structure's historic character.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: I have the ability to perform the full range of carpentry work.

I have the ability to construct, alter, install, repair and modify structures and units such as framework, rafters, concrete forms, walls, doors, finished paneling, window frames, interior and exterior trims, beams, miscellaneous items, such as workbenches, bookcases, equipment cabinets, and computer consoles for structural soundness and appearance.

I use shop mathematics and by reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and building codes. I can perform preservation and restoration carpentry which includes estimating materials and improvising with materials and supplies, using knowledge of wood and wood substitute materials and construction techniques.

I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
