The Office of Business Optimization, or Optimize, serves as the “dot connector” converting the Federal Acquisition Service vision into an operational reality to drive acquisition excellence. Our office is dedicated to enterprise-wide excellence in operations, proactive customer engagement, and cultivating a top-tier workforce.
Optimize is responsible for strategy development, procedure optimization, supply chain risk management, and data analytics to inform smart business decisions.
You will be responsible for the following duties: Turning raw data into actionable insights to drive strategy, focusing on trends, creating dashboards, and optimizing business processes to improve customer relationship management.
Leading the expansion of Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) and Cloud business intelligence (BI) capabilities through the use of acquisition data within the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) organization providing documentation and supporting a continuous cycle for obtaining feedback for enhancements and application improvement.
Working with Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) business units and portfolios to define and document requirements; gathering, developing, and writing user stories that support business requirements; supporting and assisting with prioritization of tasks within the Change Control Board (CCB) and help maintain the requirements backlog for sprint releases.
Preparing and conducting briefings for higher level management to explain the impact of business decisions, providing recommendations, viable solutions, or action plans, and proposing guidance and direction for implementation of recommendations.
Creating, updating, and maintaining project documents including: business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, functional design, data mapping, and report specifications.

If you have volunteered your service through a National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, Americorps), we encourage you to apply and include this experience on your resume. The GS-13 salary range starts at $106,437.00 per year.
If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience optimizing business processes to improve customer relationship management and contract management.
Such experience must include utilizing electronic-business, customer relationship management (CRM), and business intelligence (BI) systems: Performing audits concerning contract and customer data management for organizational compliance; Conducting analytical studies to benchmark metrics to identify performance gaps, establish realistic goals, and implement targeted improvements to drive business success; Reviewing contract and customer data to ensure compliance with contractual terms; and Compiling data to translate technical reports into presentations for customers and/or senior management.
