Electronics Mechanic

Identify component failure on a variety of complex integrated circuitry.

Analyze data from a variety of electrical test equipment.

Recommend solutions to repair electrical units.

Operate hand/power tools to repair electrical units.

Verify correct trouble shooting methods are used on electrical equipment.

Advise others on changes to equipment operation specifications.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronics Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. Perform common Electronics Mechanic duties such as maintenance on electrical units; and determine the correct trouble shooting methods to be used.

Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Efforts: Work involves standing, bending, stooping and protracted periods at consoles.

Continuously handles objects weighing from 10 to 50 pounds. Working Conditions: Normally works in well lighted, heated and ventilated shop areas. Subject to the possibility of cuts, bruises, burns and shock caused by high voltage energy, soldering irons, radiation, etc.
