HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I

You will exercise supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing heavy mobile equipment mechanic and/or mixed trade work.

You will be responsible for the quantity and quality of the work performed by subordinates.

You will be responsible for carrying out EEO policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinates.

You will deliver cost, schedule, and quality performance to customers.

You will establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences.

You will effectively communicate work assignments to subordinate work leaders journeymen.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Providing training for workers under your leadership, correcting improper heavy mobile equipment mechanic work methods. Ensuring work process and related instructions to the shipyard are being followed. Utilizing broad knowledge in heavy mobile equipment and systems as related to shipyard work.

Overhauling, rebuilding, repairing heavy mobile equipment as related to the shipyard, or naval vessels. Taking appropriate actions to prevent or overcome bottlenecks, equipment and power breakdowns.
