Maintenance Mechanic Leader

You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Leader and be responsible for performing various leader duties for Industrial Support Detachment (ISD) S. Weymouth of the Industrial Division, USCG Integrated Support Command (ISC) Boston, MA. . Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Responsible for buoy refurbishing trade functions as well as logistics coordinating. Responsible for the valuation, diagnosing extent of overhaul and correction of problems associated with buoys.

Responsible for computerized scheduling of buoys meeting operational needs of Coast Guard Cutters and Aids to Navigation Teams. Responsible for quarterly maintenance progress reports via spreadsheets, and manual shipping/receiving logs.

Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired.

Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (Screen-out element) Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of measuring instruments.

Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Knowledge of materials.
