Determines the design required and plans steps required to accomplish the job.

Fabricate unconventional metal parts.

Performs welder duties using electric, acetylene and/or inert gas shield welding process.

Create complex templates and patterns.

Interpret oral or written instructions, drawings and sketches.

(Includes Blueprint Reading) Ability to Use Hand Tools, Power Tools, etc., for Metal Work Dexterity (Assembly Disassembly Reassembly etc) Knowledge of Equipment, Structure, Materials, etc.

(Includes Constructing, Repair, and Forging) Layout and Pattern Development (Includes Geometric Projection and Triangulation) Physical Efforts: Work requires standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching and often times working from ladders and scaffolds; often lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. and more; and often working in awkward and cramped positions for long periods of time.

Working Conditions: Performs work indoors and outdoors, from extreme hot to extreme cold, from clean areas to extra-hot and dirty areas. Incumbent is exposed to possible injury from burns, falls, strains, cuts and bruises.

Employees working in asbestos are frequently required to wear respiratory protection, coveralls, disposable outer garments, gloves and safety boots or shoes. The level of protective equipment is dependent on the measured exposures or operational needs.
