Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Supervisor

Plan work operations on a weekly or monthly basis, allocates resources, distributes work, provides data for long range schedules, and participates in planning meetings.

Serve as first-level supervisor over leaders and workers performing multi-skill maintenance on combat vehicles at various CONUS and occasional OCONUS locations.

Manage personnel actions, evaluates performance, determines training needs, schedules leave, acts as labor-management representative, enforces safety, and manages property as hand receipt holder.

Ensure high morale, provides counseling, maintains readiness for CONUS/OCONUS travel, and oversees compliance with physical, training, and certification requirements.

As required to support organizational mission and emergent workload.

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 5 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years.

Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision, including manage leaders and workers who perform multi-skill maintenance on combat vehicles at several locations.

Supervise multi-disciplinary maintenance teams, direct tactical vehicle repair, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and shipping operations to sustain efficient workflow and mission-ready support. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc.
