INSTRUMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR

You will supervise and oversee the work and performance of lower-level employees.

You will plan the sequence of operations.

You will provide training to lower-level employees.

You will maintain records and/or furnish information regarding such matters as daily distribution to the force.

You will perform a wide range of personnel management matters.

You will supervise instrument mechanics assigned to perform work in various calibration lab work sites as well as work sites aboard vessels and other specified work areas.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Ability to lead a team in applying advanced analytical and problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex operational deficiencies in instrumentation and control systems.

Ability to plan, assign, and review the work of subordinate mechanics, ensuring that technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings are correctly interpreted and applied for accurate testing and calibration.

Ability to oversee and validate complex mathematical computations and technical calculations performed by the team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of test data and results.

Ability to manage the preparation and approval of comprehensive technical documentation, including ensuring all team reports and certificates of calibration comply with organizational and industry standards.

Ability to communicate technical, administrative, and personnel-related information effectively to subordinates, management, engineers, and customers to coordinate work, resolve complex issues, and represent the team.
