AUDITOR

As an AUDITOR, some of your typical work assignments may include: Developing work plans, milestones, and resource requirements and provide these inputs to the Division's planning process using knowledge of industry. Evaluating progress against the work plan periodically and ensuring required plan adjustments are made.

Preparing draft summaries of work performed and based on the results of the audits, evaluations and examinations that contain an appropriate discussion and recommendations on economic and regulatory policies. Preparing other written products such as notices, financial memoranda and proposed orders.

Communicating analysis and results effectively within teams, to management, and to company officials.

Assisting in performing audits, evaluations and examinations of market and financial accounting and reporting issues associated with measurement of market performance, assessment of market behavior and structure, and financial reporting requirements, to ensure efficiency, fairness, and consistency with Commission rules and policies.

Developing recommendations for the disposition of all issues. Taking action to resolve, or coordinate the resolution of, market and financial problems and issues. Applying professional auditing and accounting principles, techniques, and theories to solve market and financial accounting issues at energy companies.

Providing advice that may be used by management to make decisions about matters of interest to the FERC.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience conducting audits under Generally Accepted Auditing Standards or Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
