As a GS-0511-12 Auditor, you will be responsible for the following duties: Performing audits of agency programs and operations in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards (GAGAS).

Performing analysis tasks that are complex and require application of a variety of audit techniques and methodologies, as well as specific industry knowledge and auditor creativity. Preparing audit working papers and ensuring that documentation fully supports audit results and complies with professional standards.

Drafting audit reports ensuring they are clear, concise, and technically correct and conform to agency policies, as well as GAGAS. Participating with the audit team in meetings, briefings, and conferences with high-level management officials from the DeCA, other federal agencies, and contractors regarding audit findings.

Assisting audit management with identifying key areas for future audits. Read the entire announcement before starting the application process.

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0511 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, or a combination of the two to qualify.

When using education to meet qualifications you must submit transcripts. See Required Documents for more information. To Qualify for an Auditor, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR B.

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: 1.

A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or 2. Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.

GS-12: Creditable Specialized Experience Planning and performing government audits using Government Auditing Standards and performing work that demonstrates knowledge of the total audit evaluation process, including the planning, execution and reporting phases.

Applying professional standards, methods and techniques of performance auditing, including qualitative and quantitative methods, to gather evidence, validate findings, establish conclusions, formulate recommendations, and prepare reports. Comprehending and/or applying problem solving and negotiating techniques and propose solutions for deficiencies.

Communicating audit results which includes effectively communicating audit findings and recommendations both verbally and in writing, developing clear, concise and accurate audit reports for diverse audiences. A.

Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. If you are claiming MSP (PPP MSP) and are determined to be Best Qualified for the position, you will be referred to the hiring manager as a priority applicant.

Appointment of Department of War Spouses (NonComp Civ Sp): In order to use this eligibility, you must be the spouse of a current Department of War, Department of State, or intelligence community employee who is being transferred in the interest of the Government from one official station within the Department to another within the Department for permanent duty.

You are required to submit proof of marriage AND permanent change of station (PCS) orders: spouse's PCS orders (showing you as a dependent) and/or copy of marriage certificate. If you are a current or previous Federal employee, please include your most recent SF-50.
