The duties and responsibilities for an Auditor, GS-0511-13 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: * Assist with the implementation of the internal control assessments and compliance activities required by Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-123 and related appendices. * Performs reviews of the Offices, Boards and Divisions financial management transactions, supporting documentation, practices and procedures. * Reviewing OMB Circulars and other financial guidance. * Researches internal control and accounting standards.
To qualify for the position of Auditor, at GS-0511-13, you must meet the basic qualification requirements (see Education field below) AND specialized experience listed below.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, I have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service reviewing financial statements and inspecting bookkeeping systems for accuracy; identifying financial risks or potential fraud AND documenting formal audit reports that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM). You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the 09/29/2026 of this announcement.
