SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER / ARCHITECT

You will function as a specialist in the fields of design and engineering, serving as the point of contract for coordination of all assigned projects.

You will be responsible for the professional engineering and architectural expertise to produce construction contract documents through in-house capability, Architectural and Engineering contractor, or other contracting vehicles.

You will be in "Responsible Charge" for all architectural and engineering work performed by subordinate architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers, planners, etc.

You will lead design staff in performing project management roles for the project (scope, cost, and schedule) from preliminary design authorization to project closeout.

You will ensure that projects are tracked using appropriate NAVFAC software tools, such as the ieFACMAN suite (eProjects), and that all project records are kept current.

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current Registration as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing project and design management leadership, training, and mentoring in the area of Project and Design Management; 2) Planning and leading meetings and conferences required for execution of projects; 3) Collaborating with other engineering and architectural disciplines to review and advise on the development of execution plans and timely completion of all phases of the work within available funds and authorized scope; 4) Providing consultative services on project management issues and the entire range of architectural and engineering activities for facilities construction; AND 5) Providing guidance of facilities acquisition, as well as project funding authority levels and sources, contract requirements, contract documents, proposal and bidding procedures.
