Stanley Bragg Architects (SBA) are a long-established RIBA Chartered Practice based in Stanway, Colchester, Essex. SBA operates across a number of different sectors including residential, mixed-use, education, commercial, industrial, masterplanning and health & special care. More recently the company has gained two Passive House Designers. SBAL is an ambitious company that continues to grow.

We work within an open plan studio and operate flexible working hours with a hybrid working policy.

All roles advertised will be based within the Colchester area, in one of the newest and prestigious office development, with free car parking on site and access to the A12.

Title: Senior Project Architect

Salary: DOE

Location: Stanway, Colchester, Essex

Contract: Full Time

Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week, flexible working hours with core hours between 10am and 4pm & Hybrid working pattern (3 days office based, 2 days home based)

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Project Architect to lead architectural projects from conception through to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in design with a technical focus. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects within a collaborative environment, ensuring high standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Duties

Lead and coordinate architectural design processes, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.

Develop detailed architectural drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit.

Oversee the preparation of construction documentation.

Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams through negotiation and effective communication to ensure project objectives are met.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently using project management tools.

Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality control, and adherence to design intent.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to foster professional development.

Utilise Adobe Creative Suite for presentation visualisations and conceptual development.

Experience

ARB/RIBA Architect min 5+ years post Part III UK experience

Experience within the Commercial and Education sector is desirable

Extensive knowledge of architectural design software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.

Strong understanding of planning applications, construction processes, building regulations, and technical detailing.

Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from initial concept through construction.

Experience in negotiation with clients and contractors to achieve favourable outcomes.
