As a Supervisory Accountant, you will: Direct, plan, assign, and determine priorities of subordinates' work. Participate in meetings with higher officials within the branch and division as well as representatives of Fiscal Accounting (FA), and Information and Security Services (ISS) to coordinate accounting functions.

Participate in the development, testing, implementation, and documentation of manual and computerized systems. Assist management in planning, organizing, and controlling the accounting program for the division, while supporting Bureau of the Fiscal Service accounting policies.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience working with accounting concepts, principles, and methods sufficient to work using conventional procedures and practices that apply to most situations.

Examples of specialized experience for this position must include four (4) of the following five (5) elements: - Researching and interpreting directives or other authorities on accounting issues or governmental regulations.

OR - Experience interpreting and applying principals and standards of accounting and auditing; OR - Examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting data, records, and reports; OR - Participating on audits, reviews, or management requested studies of financial statements or operations; OR - Conducting special studies or specialized projects and assignments.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
