Job Summary

Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize business opportunities through independent insurance agencies within the assigned territory. Support, measure, and monitor internal and external sales efforts including short-term promotions, social media opportunities, rollovers, co-op, etc. Create specific goals for each agency that support and stimulate corporate profit and growth objectives.

Work Location

This is a fully remote/work from home role where you will spend 50% of your time in the field, servicing the Detroit/Eastern MI territory. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events.

While this role is fully remote, the nature of the position requires the associate to live within the assigned territory. Applicants residing outside of the territory are encouraged to apply only if they intend to relocate at their own expense.

Summary of Responsibilities

Join our team as a key driver of growth and agency success within your assigned territory. In this impactful role, you’ll develop and execute strategic plans that expand business opportunities through strong, productive partnerships with independent insurance agencies. You’ll guide and support agency initiatives—including promotions, social media campaigns, rollovers, co-op efforts, and more—to achieve meaningful results tied to our corporate profit and growth goals.

You’ll stay ahead of the industry by monitoring market trends, competitive activity, policy shifts, and regulatory changes, ensuring we’re positioned for long-term success. You will also conduct agency performance evaluations and oversee participation in our Partners in Excellence program to promote continuous improvement.

Business Development & Agency Growth

Drive new business opportunities by identifying, prospecting, and appointing high-potential agencies.

Build and nurture strong agency relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.

Partner closely with the sales team to meet or exceed territory sales objectives.

Deliver clear, confident product and service insights while addressing agency inquiries and needs.

Relationship Management & Collaboration

Cultivate strong connections with agents, underwriters, and internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional service and alignment.

Collaborate with underwriting teams by providing territory insights, feedback, and recommendations.

Track issues and trends to identify training opportunities or service gaps.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Analyze territory performance and key metrics to identify opportunities and areas of success.

Prepare regular performance reports and present actionable insights to Sales and Underwriting leadership teams.

Training, Promotion & Engagement

Lead agency training sessions focused on new products, services, and industry updates.

Develop and deliver creative training and sales programs through teleconferences, webinars, social media, and other tools to support agency growth and profitability.

Preferred Experience & Skills

5+ years of professional experience in the property/casualty insurance industry

Strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting processes, and regulatory requirements

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Dynamics, SharePoint, and Power BI

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Proven track record of achieving or surpassing sales goals

Preferred Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Insurance, or a related field

CIC or CPCU designation required

Valid insurance agent’s license

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

The salary range for this position is $100,000-$125,000.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
